Currency & Costs

The official currency is the Albanian Lek (ALL). ATMs are widely available in cities, though smaller villages may be cash-only. Credit cards are accepted in hotels, restaurants, and supermarkets, but cash is preferred in taxis, markets, and small cafés. Albania is very affordable compared to Western Europe — expect low prices for meals, transport, and accommodations.
