Language

Albanian (Shqip) is the official language. In Tirana and coastal areas, many people—especially the younger generation—speak English or Italian. Learning a few local phrases will be appreciated: 'Përshëndetje' (Hello), 'Faleminderit' (Thank you), 'Ju lutem' (Please), 'Sa kushton?' (How much does it cost?).
