Georgian is the official language, written in a unique alphabet. English is increasingly spoken in Tbilisi and tourist areas, while Russian is also understood by many older locals. Learning a few Georgian words like 'Gamarjoba' (Hello) and 'Madloba' (Thank you) is appreciated.
